Batanes Resorts

Batanes Resort is just a few minutes drive from Basco Airport and is a government-owned resort nestled atop a hill which offers a great panoramic view of the South China Sea. The resort is surrounded by green pastures with different varieties of flowers. The reception area is very clean and simple with its nicely designed ceilings and red-tiled floorings. It has comfortable leather sofa for their guests and has some Batanes handicrafts which depict the talents of the Ivatans.

The cottages are concrete and are made of stones with wide windows and red-colored roofs. The six original cottages are named after the six municipalities of Batanes namely: Ivana, Uyugan, Mahatao, Basco, Sabtang and Itbayat.

The cottages look like Ivatan stone houses. A room can accomodate 3 persons.

Brandon’s Lodge awaits the traveller who comes to Batanes to commune with nature and who wants to experience the hospitality of the Ivatans.

The house is located in the town of Basco, Batanes where everything is just a stone’s throw away. The beaches, hills, and mountain are conveniently near the Provincial Hospital, the financial institutions, and business establishments. The main building is nestled at a foot of a small hill and is 3-5 minutes away from the airport.

The deck provides an unobstructed view of the main road, the port, and the sleepy town of Basco. It is the perfect setting for morning coffee overlooking the sea and star-gazing at night. The 2 story building sits on top of a small hill.

Stay in a place called Shanedel’s Inn. It’s basically “home stay” since they just converted the rooms to accommodate more beds than usual. It’s pretty comfy if you’re on a budget. This is also the only place where you can left your rooms unlocked all the time. There are 14 rooms, half of which is air-conditioned. The rooms are pretty basic.

Batanes Seaside Lodge and Restaurant is the most popular place to stay while in Batanes. Actors, producers, and many others whose name we cannot mention have all stayed at Batanes Seaside. Ken Chu, Iza Calzado, and Glaiza de Castro stayed at Batanes Seaside for over 2 months while filming the movie Batanes. Imagine staying in the same room that Ken, Iza, or Angel slept in!

This lodge has 12 rooms, in twin, and triple sharing accommodations. The staffs are accommodating; they have a tv set in the lobby downstairs and upstairs.
